The Connective Tissue Matrix Modification Research Laboratory (CTMMRL) is affiliated with the Center for Biomedical Engineering and is located on the University of Kentucky Coldstream Research Campus.

Our research program focuses on the biomechanics and biochemistry of collagen crosslinking and on the translational aspects of direct chemical modification of collagenous connective tissues. Specific application areas currently being explored include spinal disc degeneration, spinal deformity, knee meniscus tears, equine tendon and ligament lesions, and flaccid soft palate in snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
